Winter Beauty Finds
Even though the temperatures have not quite reflected the winter we are all used to, cooler weather always has me switching up my beauty routine. Whether it’s dry skin or chapped lips, keeping my skin hydrated is always at the top of my list.
Barney’s Cosmetic Manager, Michelle Daquioag, is one of our favorites and our go-to when it comes to new beauty products. She tells us what’s trending and what are her must haves for her flawless skin. So, we contacted her to get a round-up of her favorite beauty products right now.
Verso Lip Serum: This product contains Retinol 8, which means it is eight times more effective than standard retinol. It helps smooth and plump lips and reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots around the lip area. But more importantly, it is the only product that keeps my lips hydrated through the treacherous winter months.
Lipstick Queen’s Frog Prince Lipstick: It looks like green lipstick, but, actually, turns rose-colored on the lips. I like to keep this one in my pocket at work and apply on the go. It’s the perfect accompaniment to a fresh, minimal makeup look.
Kevyn Aucoin Creamy Glow Blush: “Tresbelle” is my go to during the winter months when my skin is thirsty for moisture. I mix creamy glow with a drop of oil and blend with my fingers for super quick and dewy cheeks that wear all day.
True Botanicals Resurfacing Moisture Mask: This mask has moisture, hydration, and – most importantly – exfoliation. You need 2-5 minutes maximum, which is ideal if you hate waiting around for your masks to dry; nondrying plus deep exfoliation is a cold weather life saver.
True Botanicals Renew Oil: True Botanicals skincare, as a whole, has changed my skin completely and this oil was what hooked me. It has all the good oils and fatty acids you need and want. It comes in three variations for different skin types and completely warrants this brand’s following.
Ouai Finishing Crème: Described as “lotion for your hair,” and that’s exactly what this is. It’s lightweight, but hydrating. I’ll throw in some after washing my hair and then again when I’m styling it a day or two after on dry hair. Never weighs me down and smells delicious.
Chantecaille Perle Eye Shadow: Freezing temperatures don’t inspire much makeup for me, so I keep it very simple. A clean complexion, a natural rosebud lip, and a pop of shimmer on the inner corners of my eyes with Perle eye shadow.
Villhelm Parfumerie Dirty Velvet – This fragrance launched at the start of the season and has quickly been in high rotation. It contains fig, sandalwood and vetiver. It is a scent to be out and about in, I wore it to just about every holiday event this year.
